The last election was held in 1990 and the winner was Aung San Suu Kyi's party. In 1990 general election, Myanmar's "Makkal Sakthi" has decided to takeover the country administration from the autocratic military junta. But then the army general's refute the victory and they put Suu Kyi under house detention more than 12 of the past 18 years. She can't even travel when her husband passed away in foreign country. They supressed her supporters and many die while in detention. Myanmar military violently quashed peacefull disatisfaction protest yet nothing can stop the "Makkal Sakthi". Now military has draft the new constitution with main agenda to bar Suu Kyi from contesting the election which is expected in 2010. On top of that, the junta want to maintain their presence in politics by allocating 25 percent of seats in both houses of parliament and the law makers cannot do any amendment without the consent of more than 75 percent lawmakers unless supported by the military, which is impossible. They announced that it will hold the referendum expected in April on a new constitution and it's people's power again to decide whether they want to accept the new draft or reject it. I do solely believe, the "Makkal Sakthi" in Myanmar must reject the draft because the new constitution must be people's oriented not the military tools to remain in domestic politics. Military's role is to take care border of the country not the government. Let the civilian to run the government. Vote to reject the military from politics and freedom for Myanmar. Show the "Makkal Sakthi/People's Power".
