Arif Shah vs Anwar Ibrahim

Seberang Jaya assemblyperson Arif Shah Omar Shah was named as an umno candidate against Anwar Ibrahim in P44 Permatang Pauh. Ariff Shah win 2004 general election when he defeated Dr Mansor Othman of PKR with a 4,464-vote majority. In the March 8 polls, he retained the seat for the second term after beating Ramli Bulat also of PKR but the majority was slashed to 533 votes. The decision to pick Arif Shah shows umno was running out of the quality candidate to stand against the ex deputy prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim. In earlier press statement, Ahmad Saad said, kampung folk want him to contest the by-election and definitely un-picked, umno division head feel sidelined although he was short listed earlier. Either one is going to back stab Arif Shah but then he don't lost anything because he is the assembly man for state but if he win, he will be the Cabinet minister in first Cabinet reshuffle after the 12th GE.

Jihad against Political Opponent’s?

[updated: 14082008 / 01:36] Sharizat, the Deputy for umno women section and was full minister in charge for women and family declared the "JIHAD" against Anwar Ibrahim. She said Anwar will destroy the country's peace and stability if given a chance to enter the parliament. Wow, I thought, only Al-Qaeda has declared JIHAD but didn't expect the ruling party woman section also will follow the Osama Bin Laden strategy. For my understanding, modern day terrorist often claim that they are carrying out acts of destruction, as part of a jihad and political opponents has nothing to do with the concept of jihad. May be she don't understand the meaning of true jihad. Dictionary.com says jihad is a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims and in most of the cases against the infidels. In line with that, I'm wondering whether Sharizat has come to the conclusion, Anwar is infidel and she must go after him so that, Sharizat will be promised the heaven or may be she believed by declaring the jihad in the losing battle the women section might proposed her candidacy against Rafidah Aziz. I believe the later thoughts sound more logic. The reality that she fail to interpret was people want to see the changes and the change of the government will start form Permatang Pauh.

Investigate Utusan Malaysia too.

Herald was given a show cause letter for published political opinion's in their edition which the authority said, it's only for religion publication. I'm not writing this to put a justification on why the show cause letter shall be withdrawn by the authority but my question why the same authority so far never issued any show cause letter to Utusan Malaysia. The bias decision by authority really irked me. Since 12th GE, Utusan Malaysia has provoked the Malay Muslims on every single decision decided by PR and they are the one who provoked the rowdy demonstrators to go against the Bar Council, "Conversion to Islam" forum. I still do remember, when Hindraf organised a peace demo to present the Rose to PM in parliament, the men in blue was fully ready with the chemical water tank and they dispersed the peace demonstrator's in aggressive way but then last Saturday, they pleased the group and fail to take the actions. As I mention in my earlier article, muslim friends are entitled to show their dissatisfaction but it's totally unacceptable to stop the forum in the name of security. The men in blue shall be there to give the security not to please the thugs from Pekida and Utusan Malaysia should take the full responsibility for what has happen and the authority must investigate the Utusan Malaysia too for their racial slurs and provocative article in their printed edition.

What’s the difference?

Kuala Lumpur High Court granted Elegant Advisory - the company which supplied millions of ringgit worth of campaign materials to umno – RM218 million. In quick response umno said, it’s Barisan Nasional and not the party shall be sued. What’s the difference? It’s still the ruling party, umno or BN doesn’t matter. After receiving the service they should settle the payment but then waited until court to take the decision and now pointing to the partners. Well is this a sign that history will repeat? Twenty years ago umno was de-registered and may be now umno will be declared as bankrupt?
