Lip Promises Went Unattended
US concerned over Malaysian use of ISA
The government of US President George W.Bush views with "grave concern" Malaysia;s use of its tough Internal Security Act (ISA) as a possible way to stifle dissent, the State Department said Thursday.
Washington worries about "the possibility" that the act, which allows indefinite detention without trial, "might be used again to detain opposition political figures," said spokesman Sean McCormack.
"The statement by a government figure that a leading member of the opposition had become 'a threat to the economy and national security' is extremely troubling," said McCormack, referring to warnings by Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi against opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who on Thursday called for a no-confidence vote against Abdullah.
Last Friday Malaysian police arrested Teresa Kok of the opposition Democratic Action Party (DAP), Malaysia's top blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin, and a reporter with a Chinese-language newspaper under the security law, citing security concerns.
"The United States firmly believes that national security laws, such as the ISA, must not be used to curtail or inhibit the exercise of universal democratic liberties or the peaceful expression of political views," McCormack said.
"The detention of opposition leaders under the ISA would be viewed by the United States and the international community as a fundamental infringement of democratic rights and values," he added.

Say NO To Political and Selective Detention
Badawi said, Anwar is a "threat to economy and national security." His statement indicates Anwar might be send to Kamunting ISA detention centre very soon but Badawi must take into the considerations, his party only win 48% of popular votes in peninsular. Meaning that, the citizens have send Badawi a very strong dissenting message. If he fails to interpret the signal then he will be in trouble, if he continues the plan to send the PR leaders to Kamunting. Threat to umno is not a threat to nation. His incapability to practice Rule of Law was a major failure which irked the investors so don't blame others. No more political detention. Release Hindraf 5, Y.B.Teresa Kok, Raja Petra Kamarudin and the entire political detainee's. Say NO To Political and Selective Detention.

Cabinet Minor Reshuffle
Rule of Law under Pa Lah Administration?
Zaid Ibrahim said "I have failed to convince those in authority, in position of power, to effect those changes about how this government should move forward. I believe in the basic principles that this country respects all rights, all people, all citizens. "This country is for all. There is no room for discrimination. This country is about rule of law, about transparent process. These are the things that we need to change. If you don't subscribe to this or you just pay lip service to this principle, it is difficult to translate that into a policy."
Zaid is a prominent human rights speaker who speaks without fear or favour. After sixth month with Pa Lah's cabinet, he believe, he will not be able to implement the changes. What ever reformation he proposed either will be rejected by his umno colleagues in cabinet or the member of powerful umno council. Even he was accused as a traitor for the umno malays. If he him self disappointed and admitted fail to reform then no one can reform this country. Pa Lah is giving lip service and has no capability to implement the reformation he promised. Change of the government is the only hope we have to reform this country. Pray for CHANGE, pray for NEW GOVERNMENT.

Free Teresa, Abolish ISA!
http://www.petitiononline.com/freetkok/petition.html
The Barisan Nasional Government has on the 12 September detained Member of Parliament for Seputeh, state assemblywoman for Kinrara as well the senior state executive councillor for Selangor, Sdri Teresa Kok without trial under the draconian Internal Security Act (ISA).
She has been accused of stirring up racial sentiments by instigating residents to petition against mosques in Kinrara and Kota Damansara to lower the volume of their speakers. Teresa has denied these allegations and both mosques have come out to deny these accusations. There is hence absolutely no basis for this arrest. She has already threatened to sue Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, the former Selangor Menteri Besar and Utusan Malaysia for making and publishing these unfounded allegations.
The arrest of Sdri Teresa Kok,Raja Petra Kamaruddin, the Hindraf 5 as well as others is hence arbitrary, high-handed and a mockery of democracy. By labelling Teresa and others as threats to national security without any shred of evidence is a travesty of justice and a gross violation of human rights.
The petitioners hence resolves that the BN government should not use draconian powers under the ISA to cling on to power and demands the immediate and unconditional release of Teresa, Raja Petra, the Hindraf 5 and other detainees. In addition, we the petitioners demand the immediate repeal of the ISA to prevent abuses that oppresses the fundamental liberties of each and every Malaysian.
As loyal and upright Malaysians, sign the petition today!

Take VSS: Syed Hamid Albar
The second biggest mistakes was, he fail to detain Khir Toyo for azan issues and show cause letter to utusan malaysia but detain Teresa Kok for no reason.
The third biggest mistakes was, he failed to order men in blue to investigate the contents of Raja Petra article instead detain him under the draconian law.
The Fourth biggest mistake was the failure to give a logic justification for the detention.
The fifth biggest mistakes was, cabinet members have send a dissenting voices over the detention and even the de-facto law minister threaten to resign if the government used the draconian law again and information minister want a full explanation.
This proved, Syed Hamid Albar fails to perform according to the law and he shall take the full responsibility and resign from his minister post to avoid any futher shame to government.
Resign Hamid Albar.
Where is the Justice part 2.
2. Teresa Kok was detained because of azan issues in Kinrara. She, the Selangor state government and even the mosque committee members denied the Khir Toyo’s allegation in Utusan Malaysia. Khir Toyo wrote Teresa was doing the underground work to stop the use of speaker for azan. The mosque committee said, the speaker was under repair and that was the reason and Teresa was never stepped in mosques. Hamid Albar shall asked police to detain Khir Toyo and show cause letter to Utusan, unfortunately Hamid Albar asked Teresa to be detain. So where is the justice and rule by-law? Only umno law existed in this country. Umno man can say any thing they want but non-umno men are not allowed to say any thing and even to report the truth also is a big sin for umno ministers.
3. Same goes to Raja Petra. He wrote the truth about NTR and his wife but they miss-used the power to block his “malaysia-today” and revert the multimedia super corridor, “Bill of Guarantee.” If NTR believe he is innocent pious, then he shall employ a legal man to take Raja Petra to court and not the ISA. The reason for his detention was not the religion but merely on his article about the murder of Mongolian consultant, Altantuya.
4. If umno believe the suppress law will save their power then they are wrong. The Malaysian is not as stupid as their strategist believed. No intelligent citizens will buy Hamid Albar’s justification on the recent ISA crackdown. The citizens have come to conclusion, doesn’t matter if 916 could not be materialised in another few days but we will make sure, to stripe off umno’s arrogances and political power in next general election. Hancur, Hancur, Hancur, umno.
