Open letter to Makkal Sakthi

8 march 2006 was another victorious day. Makkal Sakthi has shown his power again. The dictator has been removed from his strongest constituency. The umno@bn has been denied the 2/3 majority in parliament. On top of strengthening PAS in Kelantan, Kedah, Perak, Selangor and Penang fall to "Barisan Alternative" which I believe should be renamed as "Barisan Rakyat". Not to forget, Wilayah Persekutuan which supposed should be the heart of Federal Government fall to opposition. 10 out of 13 were given to BA. This is the great achievement for the Makkal Sakthi. But we must remember, Makkal Sakthi is not belongs to Indians only. The slogan is belongs to all, Indians, Chinese, Malays etc.

But the question is what's next? I do believed, Makkal Sakthi especially Indians should be focused on our struggle for the better future. The sms is circulated asking Indians to call Lim Kit Siang and advice him to appoint Indian as a MB for Perak and at the same time appoint the Indian as a deputy MB/CM. I don't see this as a practical political approach. We must stay focus on our struggle. Please do remember our struggle is for the better future as a citizen of Malaysia. Please do remember, our struggle is to release our 5 brothers under ISA detention and 1 brother in overseas. If we run away from this agenda then I'm worried we will lose our ground since we are not focusing on our core issues.

Appointing MB/Deputy MB or Deputy CM will not going to solve our problem. The core problems arise due to the racist policy. As far as we don't remove this racist policy then no one can solve the problem. So rather than pressuring the BA for the political post, I do believe we should ask for the reformation of policy and race based system. Please do remember, political post will not be there forever but preparing the Malaysians policy will be very helpful although the party might not in power in future. The reformation of policy will help more Indians to sustain in their life rather than asking for the political post.

That not means I'm saying the considerations should not be given for Indians for the political post but political post should not be our major hope. The BA must propose the policy for Malaysians not a race based policy. We should move forward, putting aside the race and let's work together for the better future. Valga Makkal Sakthi.
